In this 5-part series, we look at the 5 Laws of Growth that govern how quickly you move towards your goals.
There are essentially 5 laws and I will devote 1 post per law.
So let’s get started.
Law 1 – Visioning.
To grow, implies a movement from where you are, to a different place, a different destination, so it stands to reason, that the first thing you must do is have a clear and definite destination in mind.
It’s common that when goals are set, they are set with more vagueness.
You might often hear people say that their goal is to he happy.
Now, let’s look at that closely.
We all want to be happy.
But happiness is not a goal. It’s a state.
You can be happy right now if you choose to. In fact, if you were to imagine a time in the past when you were happy, and imagine yourself back there, seeing, hearing and feeling the same sensations, you would experience happiness all over again.
So a state, is not a goal.
A goal is something that is measurable. You know if you hit it or not, and you can usually replicate the procedure that got you there.
The Visioning Law asks us to identify a specific goal we want to achieve.
It could be from any of the following life segments:
