Honour you and stop listening to that voice

One of our biggest tasks while we exist is to honour ourselves and what is important to us.

In my job as a coach, I’m most often confronted with the reality of clients not following their dreams because of a range of reasons. Valid reasons.

And yet, the validity of the reason doesn’t change the fact that the dream has been left behind.

And when we do that, when we let our dreams die because of reasons, reasons like,

  • money
  • time
  • significant others
  • work
  • children
  • health

…we end up living lives that are more about acceptance.

There’s nothing wrong with acceptance. We all have to do it to some degree. What I ask my clients is “How important is that thing you say you want to accomplish?”

If it was your last day and you looked back on your life, would you have regret for not giving it a go?

If the answer is yes for you, no matter the goal, you owe it to yourself to honour that feeling and start the process of doing something about it.

There are no guarantees of success. What’s interesting though is that regret is not based on success. Regret comes from a knowing that we could have given a goal an opportunity to come to life and we didn’t.

What stops you?

Most people don’t take action because they are holding onto a belief system that does not serve the expansion of the goal. They want the goal, but in the same breath they dis-validate the possibility of the goal by focussing on all the reasons that it’s not possible.

The reasons may be valid. They may even be true. But what most people miss is that they are trying to find the solution within the confines of the thinking that is already validating the problem as being bigger than the goal.

This is why people stay stuck.

This is also why you are not progressing toward a goal that is important to you.

The first thing to do here is to acknowledge the goal that is important to you. And HONOUR yourself for having the courage to even speak it. So many people don’t even do this small step.

Honouring yourself means you will examine how this goal can become real. You may not be able to see the way. This doesn’t mean a way does not exist.

Reach out to someone who may be able to help you. Ask questions. Make it important to find a way.

If you don’t, the dream will fade and some point in the future you may look back on your life wondering why the courage didn’t show up.

You have to take action towards your goal for the courage to show up.

You are so much stronger than you think.

You are so much more powerful than you think.

You are so much more creative than you think.

So much more is possible.

Honour yourself and start the process of going for your dream.

It’s worth it.

And you’re worth it.

How does this sit with you? Comment below and let me know?

Are you ready to go the next level in your life?

Until next time, keep dreaming and believing

Chris
