The Root of Success and Failure

The root of all success and failure has its basis on our daily actions — or inactions — and our consistency on both.

This is actually a good news story.

Consider this. The reason we have daily actions is because we are going to have an experience at the end of the action. If I’m cleaning the house, the action is using the vacuum, the experience is the feeling of a clean home.

If I’m writing my book, the action is typing on my keyboard, the experience is the feeling of accomplishment.

Every action has at its source the desire for an experience. Said another way — a feeling!

So let’s go back to the opening line.

The root of all success and failure has its basis on our daily actions — or inactions — and our consistency on both.

Consistency is the saviour and the culprit on both success and failure. You can increase your chances of consistency, and consequently of a positive result and success, by choosing to focus on the positive experience that awaits you at the end of the task.

Focus on the experience that awaits and the task becomes less important, and more likely to get done.

Who knows, perhaps the creative genie will deliver another way of getting to the experience that you hadn’t considered.

So, what do you think? Share your experiences below.

Until next time

Chris
