I’m really excited to be sharing this one with you because it has proven to be a game changer for me.
See, I discovered this secret of motivation after failing to complete project after project.
I set myself a task, got all excited to make it happen and BAM! When the day came for completion, I was far from it, OR pushing like crazy to make it happen.
Not a cool way to live I can tell you.
I’m sure you’ve had similar experiences.
Well, the good news is that a solution exists. And it’s so easy and simple, you’ll be scratching your head wondering Is this really it?
But before we get there, let’s quickly build a foundation.
On day 1 you learn about the difference between making a decision and making a commitment. Such an important distinction that will be worth everything to you if you really get it.
On day 2 you learnt about the 1 thing you need to do in the morning to put yourself in a peak state. It’s breathing, but a particular style and type that energises the body and pumps oxygen through your body.
So important if you want to be motivated.
Physically exhausted and motivate just don’t mix.
So today, we’re talking about the mysterious secret ingredient.
And it’s this.
One of the fastest and most effective ways for you to gain motivation and momentum is to use time on your side and against the part of you that you know will want to quit.
Here’s what you do.
You set a goal, say to go to the gym for 30 minutes. Instead of saying you’ll do it for a month, you change the goal to 3 Days.
There’s magic in controlling the time in this way.
Firstly – 3 days seems much more achievable than 31 days.
Secondly – anybody can do 3 days. And if anybody can do it, you’ll be much more motivated to make it happen.
So, here’s your homework (I prefer to call it opportunity work). Pick 1 goal that you want to achieve and set it in such a way that it’s achievable over the next 3 days.
I promise you that 3 days will definitely get you going qucker.
Want to quit sugar? Sure – do it for 3 days and see what happens.
Want to quit watching television – Awesome. Do it for 3 days and see what happens.
You get the idea?
Fantastic. So do that and I’ll see you tomorrow with Day 4 – The Question.
